Our Mission
At Keepsake Educational Services (KES), our mission is to provide neuro-affirming, inclusive support that meets every learner where they are. We are committed to honoring neurodiversity by recognizing and valuing each individual’s strengths, identities, and ways of learning. Through evidence-based practices, including ABA therapy, compassionate collaboration, and culturally responsive approaches, we support learners, families, and educators in creating environments where people feel seen, respected, and capable of success.
What sets KES apart is not just what we do, but how and where we do it. We provide support at home, in schools, and in the community, bringing qualified care directly to the environments where life actually happens. For families managing daily challenges like meltdowns, multiple appointments, and competing responsibilities, having support come to you is essential; it can be the difference between feeling overwhelmed and feeling supported. This approach reduces transitions, builds skills in real-world settings, and helps children and adults practice strategies exactly where they need to use them. Our offerings also include counseling and diagnostic assessments to ensure comprehensive support.
This approach reflects a core belief at KES: support should adapt to people’s lives, not the other way around. By meeting families where they are, we reduce barriers, lower stress, and make care more accessible, including making occupational therapy and OAP provider services financially attainable. Cost shouldn't be a barrier to getting the support you need.
At its heart, KES exists to create equity, accessibility, and belonging in neurodiversity support, ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.
Our Story
Amelia Hone, Clinical Director of Keepsake Educational Services, has been supporting families in the Ottawa Valley since 2019 and has worked in the field since 2009. As someone who is neurodivergent and lives with a disability, Amelia understands firsthand how difficult it can be to access timely, respectful support — especially when families face overwhelming waitlists, costs, and complex systems. This challenge is particularly evident in areas like ABA therapy, counselling, and diagnosis and assessments, where families often feel lost.
With time, she witnessed a troubling trend: families doing everything “right” but still falling through the cracks, and care that often felt clinical, rushed, or disconnected from reality. This personal and professional experience led her to ponder an urgent question: what if support could genuinely meet families where they are, rather than forcing them to navigate obstacles to access it?
This question became the cornerstone of Keepsake Educational Services. Today, we offer in-home, neuro-affirming support across the Ottawa Valley as an OAP provider, blending compassionate care with evidence-based practices, including occupational therapy. Our focus is always on the lived realities of the families we serve.
